Trust no one.
Living in constant terror after the Galactus incident and the Kree attack, the Fantastic Four watch the cosmos like hawks. Reed Richards sinks into a manic obsession with global defense, neglecting his family to monitor deep space. His paranoia pays off when he detects a stealth cloaked spacecraft hiding in Earth's orbit. Infiltrating the vessel, the team discovers a covert faction of Skrulls studying human biology and behavior. Furious at this, Mr. Fantastic prepares to dismantle their vessel. A battle breaks out inside the alien corridors, violently separating the family as the shapeshifting intruders weaponize the environment. After defeating their respective attackers, the heroes regroup in the central lab, only to confront one of the Skrulls' ultimate projects: the Super-Skrull. Engineered to instantly mimic the team's powers simultaneously without changing his physical form, the hybrid manages to knock out Sue. Reed, Johnny, and Ben are forced to combine their powers in perfect synchronization to counter their own abilities. After a gigantic brawl, the remaining trio manages to overpower the Super-Skrull and sabotage the deck. The Four narrowly escape the exploding bay, falling back to Earth as the damaged Skrull command ship retreats into deep space. Watching the vessel flee, a relieved Reed Richards believes they have secured victory for humanity. Cut to black. In the post-credits, the camera pans through a hidden, alien lab. Deep inside the facility, surrounded by monitors and glowing machinery, a green stasis orb holds a floating, unconscious body. As the ominous music swells, the camera slowly zooms in to reveal the horrifying truth: it is the real Sue Storm being experimented on.
