Fantastic Four: Rise Of The Silver Surfer is a 2007 American superhero film based on the Marvel Comics superhero team the Fantastic Four. Produced by Marvel Studios and distributed by 20th Century Fox, it is the direct sequel to Fantastic Four (2005) and the 2nd film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). Directed by Tim Story and written by Don Payne and Mark Frost, the film features an ensemble cast including Ioan Gruffudd, Chris Evans, Michael Chiklis, Laurence Fishburne, Jessica Alba, Kerry Washington, Beau Garrett, Andre Braugher, Julian McMahon and Bryan Cranston. In the film, The Fantastic Four learn that they aren't the only super-powered beings in the universe when they square off against the powerful Silver Surfer and the planet-eating Galactus. It also takes place before MCU.
