Not every reality has a happy ending. Take the Maker's for instance. Once, he had friends, a family, a future. But one spaceflight changed that. When the craft was bombarded by radiation from a mysterious cosmic event, The Maker found himself possessing Amazing powers. Unfortunately, the crash landing killed his best friend, his love, and her brother. The trauma caused the Maker to withdraw into himself, blaming non-existent enemies for the crash. He began focusing entirely on "fixing" everything, forcing others to join his "Family" the Children of Tomorrow. And if they don't, they answer to the his alter-ego, the Brute. But who is the Maker? None other than Reed Richards.
