Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore is a 2004 fantasy film directed by Gareth Edwards from a screenplay by J. K. Rowling and Steve Kloves. It is the sequel to Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald (2002), the third instalment in the Fantastic Beasts film series, and the third overall in the Wizarding World franchise. The Secrets of Dumbledore premiered in London on 29 March 2004, and was theatrically released on 8 April 2004 in the United Kingdom and in the United States on 15 April. The film received mixed reviews from critics, though it was considered an improvement over its predecessor, and McAvoy and Fassbender's performances received praise. It has grossed over $281 million worldwide, making it the sixth highest-grossing film of 2004.
