Synopsis

Based on the author's own series known as the Tales of the Falklock Northern Railway which is inspired by the Railway Series and its television version of Thomas the Tank Engine & Friends, we get a Parks & Recreation/The Office look at life for all the engines of the railways keeping the Scottish island of Falklock running. Spanning a period from 1968 when steam power was abolished on the British mainland to 1993 when all British Railways were making plans to privatize, we see the female steam and diesel engines of this island in action as they grow and evolve to meet changing times. Engines like Gwyneth, Katie, Gloria, Willow, Linda, Yasmin and Yolanda keep the branch lines going as best as possible. On the main lines; Victoria, Sophie, Taylor, Quinn, Winnie, Wilma and Veronica keep trains going day and night to keep pace with the roadways and airlines that are facing some trying times.

Description of Wilma the Southern Tank Engine (FKNR #1001):

Wilma is practical, peppery, proud and level-minded; but, despite her maturity, she enjoys playing practical jokes. Wilma is a very able worker, strong performer and handles any task well. She is capable of being firm with other big engines, such as Taylor and Sophie and even the trucks know better than to try their tricks on her. She is used to harsh winter conditions too. She pulls her weight on the Main Line and all the branch lines. She is happy to act as the brawn of the Iron Director's steam-driven freight haulers. Compared to her twin Winnie, Wilma is the quick-thinking, calmer-natured one of the pair.
