Synopsis

2045. Humanity more than ever began to learn more about the vast universe around them, with expeditions to different corners of the Galaxy. Diana Sanders is part of one of them, leading a group of astronauts with the mission to verify the viability of a planet previously detected by her to be included in the world population program. But when a tragic accident drastically changes plans, Diana will now have to confront a primitive world towards her salvation, with the help of the robot that accompany her. What she didn't imagine was that her best help to survive would come from the planet itself.

Description of Beach Quills:

It's not just large predators that are to be feared here, and Beach Quills are a case in point. Resembling tiny spikes, they live as part of a hidden swarm, until an organism approaches, launching itself into the skin of its prey by the hundreds to inject neurotoxins capable of taking down even a 13-meter Groveback, as witnessed by the eyes of Sanders. Even knowing that this is part of the ecosystem's nature, the protagonist does not stop admitting pity while listening to the giant creature's screams of pain, consumed internally still being alive.
