Ernest P. Worrell (Jim Varney) suffered from a heart attack from watching a horror movie one night, dying immediately and accidentally got sent towards the bowels of Hell itself. Coming face to face with The Devil, himself (Rowan Atkinson) and some of the most dangerous killers in history, Jack The Ripper (Tim Curry), Lizzie Borden (Kathy Bates) The Zodiac Killer (Robin Williams) and even the likes of the newest and most twisted of them all, The Springwood Slasher himself. Freddy Krueger (Robert Englund) among other horrific beings. Ernest has to find a way to escape the underworld before midnight on Devil's Night, however Freddy and the other killers are secretly planning an escape out of Hell to wreak havoc on Earth once again and to stir up a massive killing spree. Now, it's up to Ernest to not only escape the underworld to save his friends on Earth, but to also stop the deranged lunatics from escaping. However, some familiar foes are on his trail along the way..
