Synopsis

The birth, growth, apotheosis and beginning of the decline of Elvis Aaron Presley, the myth of several generations, are told and reread from the point of view of his lifelong manager: Colonel Tom Parker. It is he who accompanies, with his narrative voice and presence on stage, the explosive rise of an absolute icon of music and costume while he commits himself, openly but also secretly, to influence his life in order to safeguard his own.

In 1953, Elvis Presley recorded "My Happiness" and "That's When Your Heartaches Begin" as a birthday present for his mother at the Sun Studio in Memphis, Tennessee. Marion Keisker, the assistant of Sun Records owner Sam Phillips, wrote "Good ballad singer. Hold. Impressed by Presley's singing, Phillips joins Presley with bassist Bill Black, and guitarist Scotty Moore, forming the Blue Moon Boys.
