The sequel begins with Will Smith suffering from multiverse trauma, experiencing fragmented visions and alternate realities that haunt him. This trauma intensifies after the 2022 Oscars incident. Fast forward to the 2023 Oscars, where Will presents the Best Actress award to Michelle Yeoh. After her acceptance speech, as they exit the stage, Michelle shifts into her character Evelyn Wang. Both realize they need to meet privately to address the multiverse chaos with Chris Rock as the villain.
