Dr. Caleb Vance, a grief-stricken astrophysicist, struggles to cope with the death of his wife and daughter in a car accident. His guilt and obsession with understanding time and causality have alienated him from his colleagues and pushed him toward self-destruction. One fateful evening, during a routine lunar observation, the moon stops moving in its orbit. Half of the Earth plunges into perpetual darkness, triggering global panic, societal collapse, and mysterious phenomena on the dark side of the world. Communication systems begin to fail, and the laws of physics appear to break down in areas engulfed by the shadow. Caleb is recruited by the enigmatic Professor Evelyn Kerr, the head of a covert global task force studying the anomaly. She reveals that the moon's gravitational forces are destabilizing Earth, and if the mystery isn't solved, the planet will soon be torn apart. Caleb discovers that the lunar anomaly might be connected to a classified experiment involving time manipulation—a project he abandoned years ago. In the final moments, Caleb realizes that the experiment which stopped the moon was his own creation—a desperate attempt to turn back time and prevent his family's death. The darkness isn't an alien force but a projection of his own mind, amplified by the cosmic anomaly. To save the Earth, Caleb must accept his loss and let go of his guilt, allowing the machine to "move forward" time and reset the moon’s orbit.
