The “drummer” of the band and tritagonist of the sitcom, who was Cassidy’s best friend during filming due to her levelheadedness and calm demeanor, something the set was sorely lacking in. Over the course of the show’s run, Ruth became close with Monica, and they wound up secretly dating off-and-on for three years, up until they were discovered by a studio executive, which fans believe led to the series’ cancellation. Having been cast, in part, due to being an actual drummer since she was five, Ruth now tours with several artists and bands.
