A Saiyan and Goku’s older brother. Raditz originally came to Earth to recruit Goku, the first time they’ve interacted since childhood. Disgusted by his newfound brother’s cruelty, Goku refuses, prompting Raditz to kidnap his son, Gohan, to use as blackmail. In order to rescue Gohan and defeat Raditz, Goku is forced to team up with his rival, Piccolo. Raditz was defeated, but at the cost of Goku’s life. A dying Raditz then warns Piccolo of his two Saiyan comrades that will come to Earth in one year, forcing everyone to train for the upcoming invasion. Raditz was a hot-blooded and arrogant Saiyan that had a sadistic streak as well.
