Fan Casting The Iranian Dictator in Doug Liman's Splinter Cell

A complex political situation in Iran has boiled over into all-out revolution. The United States has great interest in deposing the current dictator, a man who sympathizes with and aids fundamentalist terror cells around the world. However, the revolution hasn’t been moving fast enough for the White House and CENTCOMM. International law makes it illegal for the U.S. to officially assassinate a foreign head of state, so Sam Fisher has been deployed to “depose” the Iranian dictator. Unofficially. While revolution rages in the streets, Fisher has employed collated intelligence and his own instincts to lead him into the home where the Iranian Dictator is hiding out. Fisher cuts the power to the home and stalks the halls of the home, led by his NVGs. In the total darkness, he steps around frightened women, children, and the elderly until he locates the dictator face-to-face and puts a bullet in his head at close range. Fisher collects a blood-sample, answering the mystery as to how the U.S. government can be so sure, so often that they’ve “gotten their man” with a positive DNA identification. Following the successful completion of Fisher’s mission, he is ordered by 3rd Echelon to withdraw from the action and move to the extraction point. Fisher, however, is not yet done. Something that he saw has been gnawing at him. Fisher returns to the heat of the revolution and finds that the revolutionaries have been looting the Iranian Dictator’s weapons stockpiles. It’s a free- for-all flea market where anyone can drive up a truck and unload anything they want.
