A “Splinter Cell” is a warrior who has been handpicked from the best
American Special Forces units operating. He is then stripped of his identity, rank and official affiliation with the United States government before being redeployed as a ghost; the most dangerous one-man army the West has to offer. A Splinter Cell does not operate under official orders, nor does he go into areas of operation where the United States already has a military presence. The Splinter Cell goes into the places where we cannot legally be; the places where, if caught, he could ignite international war.
The Splinter Cell is a disavowable operator. He does not—at least not officially—exist.
