Synopsis

A year later after the events of The Super Mario Bros. Movie, Donkey Kong wants to finally have a fun vacation in his jungle home with his friends, but he’s still frustrated that he might be losing his edge because of Mario beating him last time. Unfortunately his vacation and this awaited rematch will have to be put on hold for a good long while, for Donkey Kong’s life is about to change forever. Something wildly exciting is going to happen. First of all, the evil crocodile King K. Rool and his army of Kremlings have invaded and stolen the island’s bananas and every food supply as a means to starve the Kongs and take over. And second of all, when DK and Diddy Kong snuck out of the jungle one night for some fun in Brooklyn, they find themselves entangled in a crime that targeted the beautiful mayor of New York, a crime which DK manages to stop by taking the mayor back to the jungle with him, unintentionally adding more to the crime in the means to save her and instantly becomes a wanted ape himself in the process. Now DK must find a way to prove his heroism by fixing these two big messes. Who knows? This brand new adventure might be the fun vacation DK might be looking for after all.

Description of Diddy Kong (DK’s best buddy):

Donkey Kong's bestest most loyal buddy he could ever ask for. Diddy is more than the brave sidekick and second banana. They're the yin to each other's yang symbolizing that they're friends for life. When they first met, Diddy was only 2 years old while DK was 9 years old. Taking a long look at Diddy, DK just felt there was something very special about this little monkey and alas, he took him under his wing, trained, and raised him. Diddy is super agile, he can fly his barrel jetpack and invented his own set of weapons: peanut guns for him and DK. When Mario defeated DK in the ring, he wasn't that happy as he barely cheered for him. This is what loyalty to your best buddy looks like.
