Donkey Kong was chosen to be the ruler of the Jungle Kingdom by Inka Dinka Doo. Alongside various allies, such as his best friend and nephew Diddy Kong and his grandfather Cranky Kong, he must protect the Crystal Coconut from various threats, most notably the villainous King K. Rool and his army, who long to steal it to rule the Jungle Kingdom.
