Captain Jean DeWolff, one of Spider-Man's closest allies in the New York Police Department, is found brutally murdered in her apartment, leaving Peter Parker devastated and determined to bring her killer to justice. As Spider-Man investigates alongside the police, a mysterious vigilante known as the Sin-Eater begins murdering people he believes are corrupt, including judges, politicians, and law enforcement officers. Consumed by grief and anger, Spider-Man becomes increasingly ruthless, nearly abandoning his usual moral code in his relentless pursuit of the killer. Daredevil joins the investigation, believing the Sin-Eater deserves a fair trial rather than vengeance, leading to a clash between the two heroes over justice and revenge. The investigation reveals that the Sin-Eater is Stanley Carter, a former S.H.I.E.L.D. agent whose fractured mind drove him to become a self-appointed executioner. Spider-Man finally confronts Carter, but his rage nearly pushes him to kill the murderer before Daredevil intervenes and reminds him that crossing that line would betray everything Jean stood for. Carter is arrested instead of executed, allowing the law to prevail despite Spider-Man's overwhelming desire for revenge. Jean's death leaves a lasting emotional scar on Peter, reinforcing the painful lesson that even heroes cannot save everyone and that true justice requires resisting hatred, no matter how deeply personal the loss. At the end it's revealed that he has had the symbiote with him the whole movie, which influenced his actions and why he was so vengeful the whole movie.
