Kent Nelson discovers Helmet of Fate and when he puts it on, he meets ancient Lord of Order, Nabu who inhabits the helmet. Nabu then starts to train Kent to become agent of Order, Doctor Fate. Years later, Kent has given up the mantle, but then is called once again to become Fate when his succsessor dies when evil sorcerer starts causing chaos
