Adapted from the series of books by Edgar Rice Boroughs, the 1999 animated Disney hit, and the Disney Broadway adaptation, this story is about a man who was raised by apes after being shipwrecked on the African coast with his parents, who were later killed by a leopard. Even though the leader of the gorillas and Tarzan's stepdad, Kerchak, shuns him as a "hairless wonder" (because he had a bad history with humans), Tarzan grows up the "king of the jungle."
