Kong is the giant gorilla-like ape of Skull Island who is worshiped by the natives and battles against the dangerous creatures. At first, he is very monsterous and frightening, but upon meeting Ann, Kong becomes protective and sympatheic. Kong also has a giant flying squirel for a companion (whom Ann nicknames either "Cooper" or "Rose").
