  • sethzarandona Y'know, I think "The Princess and the Pea" would be a great fairytale to adapt and have a trans princess. A plot-hole in the OG fairytale is that, at the very beginning, the Prince goes out in search of a princess to marry, and visits all the neighboring kingdoms, and doesn't connect with any of the princesses. Then the female protagonist arrives, claiming to be a princess, and nobody's ever heard of her, not even the Prince. SO. An adaptation could fix that plot-hole by making the main Princess trans, and she just hadn't made the transition yet when the Prince was going around all the kingdoms. It could also potentially add to why the Queen tries to test whether or not she's a "real" princess; either the Queen is being transphobic, or she just never heard about a prince from one of the other kingdoms transitioning and becoming a princess? Maybe I didn't explain all that very well, but it's an idea.
