  • jakubduda The film opens with a retrospective montage of McClane's greatest moments from the entire Die Hard franchise, juxtaposed against a grim contemporary scene where he lives quietly in New York and is no longer a hero in the eyes of the public. Years ago, McClane neutralized a major drug dealer, Caesar Montana, but during this operation, he accidentally shot a child and was taken out of service, then moved to a small town, where he spent his last years of service. Now he is already marked by age and all the actions he experienced as a detective. He lives a peaceful life with his family. In contrast, the world is in danger because of Professor M, who is the alter ego of Raul Montana, Caesar's brother. McClane is called out of retirement when Montana's cyber attacks begin targeting his former colleagues, friends and even family. Jack has been kidnapped and John teams up with his daughter Lucy, Zeus Carver, Joe Lambert who is now the Chief of Police, Sgt. Al Powell and Cpt. Carmine Lorenzo. Massive action sequences in multiple global cities. The combination of cyber warfare and physical combat creates tension. McClane's old brute force tactics clash with the world of high technology, but McClane still proves he has what it takes to win. When John’s family is targeted by Raul Montana and Jack gets kidnapped, John initially tries to handle things on his own with his usual team. But as Montana’s attacks escalate and John is pushed to his limits, it’s revealed that there’s only one person left who can help him navigate the deeper, more dangerous underworld that Montana is linked to—his brother, James McClane. Zeus boards a plane to New York, but the plane is hijacked by Paul Silva, because Montana's latest attack is the new 9/11. The race against time begins. While Zeus fights in the air, John saves the world on the ground. Dylan Klingorn, an FBI agent, and Jack are trapped in a submarine heading for the Statue of Liberty. Old Dr. Howard comes to the police, who claims that he is responsible for this, that he treated and taught Raul. John can save the family and the world, and Zeus that flight. John is mortally wounded after a fight, explosions and bullets. McClane knows that in order to stop the bombs, he will have to trigger a manual control deep in the basement of the building next door where Kruger's server is located. In his final moments, McClane delivers a Yippee-Ki-Yay as he dismantles Montana's web himself, but knows he won't make it out alive. Lucy (in tears): "Dad, no... you can't do this. We'll find another way! There has to be another way!" McClane (softly): "Kid, I've been finding another way my whole life. But not this time." Lucy grips his hand tighter, trying to hold him back, while Jack watches, conflicted between saving thousands or millions of lives and losing their father. McClane: "You two… you're my legacy. Not this. Not the badges, not the medals, not the headlines. You. I fought for you, always. And I'm sorry I wasn't always there… but this ... this is how it ends." John leans in, kisses Lucy's forehead, and gives Jack a strong, heartfelt hug — a rare and emotionally raw moment for McClane, showing the deep love he's always had for them, but could never properly express. Jack (choking up): "Dad, you don't have to—" McClane (with a grin): "Yippee-Ki-Yay, kid." Kids, James and all the colleagues and Holly watch the building The blast shakes the entire building, they are thrown away. smoke, fire, and rubble filling the air. As the dust settles A scorched, blackened object, McClane's NYPD badge, lying cracked on the ground. Last scene is huge funeral for a hero, headstone text is John McClane — Hero, Father, Fighter.
