The story centers around Dante, a freelance Devil Hunter who operates out of his agency; Devil May Cry. One day, a mysterious woman attacks him in his office, who recruits him to kill a demon named Mundus, the one responsible for killing Dante's family. Soon after, Dante is tasked with fighting through a demon infested castle to find and kill Mundus.
