A team of researchers lead by their friend Dwight Fairfield (Charile Day) head off for a weekend at a mansion deep in the woods. They arrive to find they are quite isolated with no means of communicating with the outside world. When the cellar door flings itself open, they of course go down to investigate. They find an odd assortment of relics and curios, but when one of Dwight's friends Meg Thomas (Samara Weaving), reads from an dusty old spellbook, where she later discovered that she accidentally awakens an army of deadly serial killers. In order for them to survive from the killers and work on the generators they found to open the doors and escape from the location.
