  • brianthompson22 There's nobody on the planet who wants to see DC succeed more than me as I've been a life long fan of DC characters outside the live action movies, but unfortunately, this DCU reboot is going to bomb harder than the DCEU. Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor is madness. Lex Luthor is charismatic, buff and above all else, menacing. He's supposed to be a no nonsense politician-type big league sleazeball meets case hardened mob boss type character. Dwayne Johnson was literally born for this role and James Gunn decides to go with a nerdy dweeb looking stick with next to no charisma or menacing gene whatsoever? Colossal mistake

    • plothole181   @brianthompson22 You have clearly never seen Nicholas Hoult in Skins. In just the first season you see him be the charming, semi-machiavelian cool guy type and then have moments where he seems like he is staight sociopathic and he has proven several times that he can get into shape. Maybe not Dwayne Johnson kind of shape, but I can't think of a single version of Lex Luthor that had a Dwayne Johnson build. Nick Hoult probably wouldn't have been my first thought either, but I can't say I was dissapointed when I saw the casting announcement and it certainly didn't seem like madness and I doubt that it will be a colossal mistake.
