Jonathan "Jon" Kent is the firstborn son of Kryptonian superhero Superman and news reporter Lois Lane. Jon began fighting crime as Superboy at the age of 10; at age 11, an accident caused him to experience time asynchronously for several weeks and return as a 17-year-old. His heroic and diplomatic actions in the intergalactic community resulted in an invitation to join the Legion of Super-Heroes in the 31st century. Upon returning home, Jon became the new Superman in the place of his father, who had departed the planet indefinitely on a mission to Warworld. As the first Earth-born Superman, Jon sought to use the role to help in new ways for "truth, justice, and a better world."
