Still reeling from the disappearance of his cousin Kara due to the malfunctioning Phantom Zone Projector, Clark Kent is considering retiring as Superman as his powers begin to deteriorate due to an unknown source. Meanwhile, a mysterious individual with a similar powerset to Superman (though much weaker) begins to commit atrocious crimes at the behest of someone with a grudge against the Man of Steel, forcing Clark to team up with a friend with a background in detective work: the Batman.
