In 1962, a young Max Tennyson (Chase Stokes) has dreams of leaving his hometown of Bellwood, Illinois behind to become an astronaut and be the first man on the moon, along the way he encounters a mysterious young woman named Verdona (Madelyn Cline) in the desert while he's out celebrating with his older sister Vera (Jodie Comer) brother Gordon (Rudy Pankow) and his wife Betty Jean (Madison Bailey) after telling them the good news, until they find themselves in the middle of a war with intergalactic police force who called themselves the Plumbers and extraterrestrial life but soon discovers sinister secrets buried within and is forced to confront a dark family history that will forever keep him connected to Bellwood banding together, Max and his childhood friends must fight an ancient evil that has gripped Bellwood since its founding, and once unearthed has the power to destroy everything in its path.
