David Richard Ellis (September 8, 1952 - January 7, 2013) was an American filmmaker, actor and stuntman. He is best known for directing the films Final Destination 2 (2003), Cellular (2004), Snakes on a Plane (2006), The Final Destination (2009) and Shark Night 3D (2011). He was also a second unit director for Fatal Attraction, Thunderheart, Patriot Games, Clear and Present Danger, Waterworld, The Devil's Own, Deep Blue Sea, The Perfect Storm, Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, The Matrix Reloaded, and Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World. He was also involved in Baywatch, where he was a stunt coordinator for 15 episodes, 4 of which directed himself
