Daniel "Danny" Fenton, a 14-year old boy living in the small town of amity park, with his eccentric ghost hunting parents, Jack and Maddie Fenton and his overprotective sister Jazz, Upon pressure from his two friends Sam and Tucker, Danny decides to explore his parent's ghost portal created by his parents in their attempt to bridge the human world with the ghost zone by plugging it in, But then Danny put on a jumpsuit and went into the portal and pressed the "On" button, thus activating the portal infusing his DNA with ectoplasm, transforming him into half ghost.
