This story takes place after the events of Danganronpa 3: The End of Hope's Peak High School, which resulted Makoto Naegi and Hajime Hinata brought hope to the entire planet after the defeat of Junko Enoshima. Makoto has became the new headmaster of Hope's Peak Academy, and reunited with Kyoko Kirigiri, while Hajime has reunited with Nagito and all of the other members of the 77th Class-B at Jabberwock Island.
