Forty years have passed since the Joker's descent into the sewers and his last confrontation with Batman. Gotham City has transformed into a gleaming metropolis, a stark contrast to the decaying city of the Joker's past. However, beneath the surface, a darkness still lingers. Bruce Wayne, now a frail and weary old man, lives a reclusive life, haunted by the memories of his battles with the Joker. The mantle of Batman has been passed on, but the city's new protector struggles to match the legend of the Dark Knight. Then, a series of disturbing incidents rocks Gotham. Gruesome pranks, eerily reminiscent of the Joker's earlier work, begin to terrorize the city. Commissioner Barbara Gordon, hardened by years of fighting crime, suspects a copycat killer. But Bruce, sensing a more sinister truth, dons the Batsuit once more, determined to face the past one last time. His investigation leads him deep into the labyrinthine sewers, a place he swore never to return to. There, he finds not a cackling madman, but a frail, elderly figure - the Joker, his once vibrant green hair now white, his manic energy replaced by a chilling stillness.
