Cher's former next door neighbor growing up and frenemy. Like the original is majoring in environmental law in college and is very wise cracking and caring towards various causes. Also like the original he does start out having a friendly rivalry with Cher but grows to care for her and they become a couple by the end of the film. However, unlike the original the element of Josh being Cher's step sibling has been removed and instead Josh is a childhood next door neighbor who growing up had a tough relationship with his family so he ended up spending more time at the Horowitz's becoming like family but never officially related. His family eventually moved away though which led to Josh and Cher losing touch but he reaches out to Cher's dad when he's in town for college and secures an internship with his firm. This leads to him reconnecting with Cher.
