Los Angeles, 1951. Japanese-American private eye and ex-soldier Ken Oriyama is hired by the widow of a powerful studio executive to investigate her husband's suicide. The case reunites him with Australian cat burglar and ex-spy Camille Vinitsky, who has her her own reasons for wanting the truth, years after they first met on the Pacific Front of WWII when he was serving in the Military Intelligence Service and she was working for the Services Reconnaissance Department. Their goals aligned, they delve into the glitz of the film industry and the grime of the criminal underworld to uncover a byzantine web of intrigue and systematic abuse.
