Edgars is horribly injured from an ambush-caused train crash at the hands of violent Nazi spies, he is re-operated as a semi-organic lifeform encased in his repaired Class E2 Tank Locomotive. What starts out as a fool-proof method of protection from Nazi invaders is soon revealed to actually be an evil method of control and slave-ownership at the hands of Sodor's railway controller, Topham Beckham Hatt.
