Jan is an Electronic Warfare Operator-Navigator with the "Shadowhawks" of Electronic Warfare Squadron 141 (VAQ-141). A native of Nova, Michoacan, she initially served as an enlisted Aviation Mechanic (Structural/Welding Technician) for nine years working on S-3 Viking submarine hunter jets and served with Kotaro Tsurugi in the same "Sub-Hunter" squadron. After a tour as a Leading Petty Officer, she attended Navy Officer Candidate School (OCS) and Naval Flight Officer (NFO) training. Upon winging, she was selected to fly the EA-6B Prowler radar jammer-attack jet. Outside of flying, she serves as "Big Sister" to a lot of junior pilots in the air wing.
