Synopsis

Willy Wonka, a chocolatier who runs the Wonka Factory, announces that he put 5 golden tickets to a tour in his factory in 5 individual chocolate bars, and whoever finds the ticket is now invited to a tour of his factory. 4 of the tickets have been found by 4 rotten children: Augustus Gloop, Veruca Salt, Violet Beauregarde and Mike Teavee respectively. Charlie Bucket, a poor boy who lives with his hardworking mother and bedridden grandparents, dreams of touring Willy Wonka’s factory. His dream comes true when he finds the fifth and final golden ticket! However, upon visiting the factory, mishaps happen involving the other 4 winners.

Description of Charlie Bucket:

In this genderswap musical, Charlie is a kind, but unfortunately penniless little girl from a shack in America. She lives with her bedridden grandparents and hardworking mother who unfortunately is paid very little. At the end of the musical, Wonka grants Charlie the role of the new factory runner. Keep in mind that in the Broadway musical, all the children besides Charlie are played by adults, so please cast a child for this role.
