Hope Adler Blake is a central figure in The Black Phone 2, whose tragic life and death profoundly shape the events of both films. In the first film, Hope Blake was described as a troubled woman who had psychic visions, similar to her daughter. Her visions would drive her mad and brought her to suicide. The second film retcons this; in it, Hope had psychic dreams, in which she would see past or future events. She worked at a winter camp where three children went missing, and while she briefly communicated with their ghosts, she was unable to find them. Several years later, she would have a dream of her former coworker kidnapping a child. When she went to his house to investigate, he would murder her and fake her suicide.
