From Japanese 刹那 (setsuna) meaning "a moment, an instant". It can also be given as a combination of 刹 (setsu) meaning "temple" or 雪 (setsu) meaning "snow" combined with Japanese 那 (na) a phonetic kanji or 菜 (na) meaning "vegetables, greens". 刹那 is by far the most popular spelling for boys, for girls the name is often written in hiragana. Other kanji combinations are possible.
