Benedict Cumberbatch as Shadow Freddy / Professor Shadow: The head librarian/scientist of the Shadow Mansion of Books and Science. While he cannot fight, per se, due to his injured left leg, he can use his cane to beat those who trespass in the mansion. He is a powerful telepath and wizard who hopes for peaceful coexistence with the human race, as well as the founder and leader of the Celestials.
