The power-hungry Grand Vizier of Agrabah. Jafar secretly wishes to overthrow the Sultan and claim the throne for himself. To achieve this, Jafar seeks the Genie of the Lamp hidden in the Cave of Wonders. He soon uses the Genies power to become the Sultan and a powerful sorcerer. Aladdin defeats Jafar by tricking him into becoming a Genie himself, sucking him into his own lamp. Jafar is a tricky and cunning character that usually keeps a level head, all though he does have a maniacal side. He is always associated with his sardonic parrot, Iago, until Iago leaves him.
