Description of Tikal the Echidna:
A pacifistic echidna and one of Knuckles' ancestors. She quickly befriended the Chao, small humanoid and adorable creatures, and their guardian, Chaos. Her father wanted to steal the power source from the Chao Garden, the Master Emerald. His raid at the Garden, and the unintentional genocide of the Chao caused Chaos to become angry, and he wiped them all out. To protect the world, Tikal sealed herself and Chaos inside the Master Emerald itself. Thousands of years later, Eggman broke the Master Emerald to release Chaos. Tikal attempted to warn everybody of the impending doom that was ahead of them. After Super Sonic defeated Perfect Chaos, Tikal left with a now calm Chaos to live in peace.
