Carol Danvers is a fearless Air Force test pilot whose life has been defined by a need to prove herself against a childhood shaped by her abusive father’s constant doubt. When she is recruited to test an experimental engine tied to alien technology, a catastrophic incident leaves her transformed by cosmic energy and Kree DNA. Presumed dead on Earth, Carol awakens on the Kree homeworld and is recruited into their elite Starforce unit, where she becomes the empire’s most powerful weapon in an interstellar war against the Skrulls. As Carol carries out brutal missions across the galaxy, she slowly uncovers the truth: the Skrulls are refugees, not invaders, and the Kree leadership—guided by the Supreme Intelligence—has engineered endless war to maintain control. Realizing she has been manipulated and turned into a living weapon, Carol rejects both empires’ cycles of domination. She turns against the Kree, helps ignite a revolution that collapses the Supreme Intelligence, and chooses to define her power on her own terms. In the aftermath, Carol leaves Earth behind once more, embracing her role as Captain Marvel—protector of worlds across the stars, free from the systems that once tried to own her.
