• ifancast   @ifancast So I'm just gonna post this cuz it's fun context for Carol's origin: Flashbacks reveal Carol’s life on Earth before becoming a Kree soldier. Five years before the events of the first film, she was a 19-year-old Air Force recruit and close friend of Monica Rambeau. At this time, she met Mar-Vell, a Kree lieutenant who went undercover as Dr. Walter Lawson on a special mission with Minn-Erva. After coming into contact with a powerful Kree weapon, Carol gained cosmic abilities, and she learned that her mother was a Kree refugee who fled to Earth from the war. Upon learning that Mari-Ell was hiding on Earth and that Carol had discovered them, Minn-Erva contacted the Pursuer Corps to apprehend Mari-Ell and kill her family, including Carol. The Kree killed Carol’s parents, but upon discovering her powers, Yon-Rogg (at that time a high-ranking Pursuer) and Dr. Minn-Erva erased Car-Ell’s memory so she could fight as a Kree soldier. Mar-Vell felt guilt for the tragedy he brought to Carol, so he chose to train her as his pupil. This development is one reason he became estranged from Att-Lass, who was initially supposed to be his pupil. Monica became haunted by Carol’s disappearance and left the Air Force, joining S.W.O.R.D. years later. Yon-Rogg was transferred to the Kree military under the rank of Captain sometime later.

• ifancast   @ifancast Also in the finale, Carol disappears on Earth with help from Richard Rider, and Ronan kills the Supreme Intelligence to become the ruler of the Kree Empire.
