What if Captain Marvel was actually good and focused on the REAL first female Captain Marvel? A Kree alien named Mar-Vell crash lands on Earth in the 1970s and meets a man named Frank Rambeau and the two eventually become friends. He eventually goes off to join a secret government organization so that he can build a light speed engine and go home. Many years later in 1995, Monica Rambeau, daughter of Frank, is trying to become a pilot. While in the academy, she is being mentored by Dr. Walter Lawson aka, Mar-Vell. While helping him on his light speed engine, it eventually explodes, and Rambeau gets doused with alien radiation, Kree DNA, alien tech, and a strange object he's using called a Cosmic Cube. She eventually gets powers and Lawson tells her who he really is, and that he's fighting against the evil Skrulls who have been trying to capture Mar-Vell and the Cosmic Cube. So, with only being able to trust themselves, Mar-Vell and Monica fight against the Skrulls, as well as Mar-Vell's own race, the Kree from becoming more powerful.
