Synopsis

When Superman died in Batman v Superman Dawn of Justice the U.S. goverment decided to create their own Metahuman Program to replace Superman; that's how the Project: Captain Atom was born, Unites States Air Force officer and Irak War veteran named Nathaniel Adam decided to join the Project which involves testing the hull of the crashed Kryptonian Scout Ship's durability by placing a human being (Adam) within the metal craft and then exploding an atomic weapon under it. The weapon went off and Adam was seemingly disintegrated. 2 years later, Adam suddenly reappeared (he later discovers along with the rest of the world that Superman was back from the dead) , the Kryptonian metal, now bonded around his body, afforded him incredible abilities far beyond that of a mere mortal.
