In 1950 there was a radio drama that was very progressive for it's time. Candy Matson was a former model turned private detective living in San Francisco. She was not the type to do a pro-bono case for orphans. She mentioned money is several episodes.
Her neighbor and occasional partner is Rembrandt Watson. A rather flamboyant "confirmed bachelor." With today's ears he is a closeted homeosexual. The love interest is homicide Lt. Ray Mallard a rather easy going police detective.
