The Kingdom of Aethelgard is a fictional island continent and totalitarian kingdom existing at the intersection of sword-and-sorcery fantasy, dystopian survival, and graphic splatterpunk horror. Known colloquially as the "Ancient Dystopia," Aethelgard merges the administrative discipline of Imperial Rome (Roman Republic/Empire), the philosophical structures of Classical Greece (Sparta/Athens), and the plague-ridden feudalism of Medieval England (St. Brice’s Day Massacre/Harrying of the North/Great Famine of 1315–17). Aethelgard was an eerie land mass, brutal, suffocating, strict and brutal with highly diverse but universally hostile that has been isolated from the rest of the unknown world because of extreme totalitarian fashion by the Emperor which completely censored anything such as human errors, laughing, smiling, having fun, love, having close friends, falling in love, date, sex, using wrong word, rebellion, nostalgic past like films and music, writing or using electricity are all completely banned which includes childish games by the government because of desolate badlands scarred by historical conflicts had been defined by ruthless power dynamics, mass enslavement, and state-sanctioned settler violence with absolute cruelty of punishing people for trying to survive or even for crying babies leaves no room for hope, especially eating as well as private cooking are banned, and staying home while avoiding work means death when agents and soldiers kill people for dodging work or failing to quiet crying babies. Many starving civilians are forced to eat small amounts of weak food, and any extra food brings a death sentence, when children or babies felt that they do not like being shouted at will get themselves murdered. After the government destructs everyday normal life when privacy was abolished. The state took all children away from parents, and even the guards get punished if they fail to kill anyone by the Emperor's will. Aethelgard expands through total warfare, using scorched-earth tactics and public spectacles of execution to control and conquer its vast territories and peoples who had stripped of rights and worked to death as expendable state resources by the government as part of military campaigns designed to annex neighboring lands quickly by the settlers with total destruction of enemy food stuffs, every homes, and all lands to break resistance where the massacres and localized terror committed directly by expanding civilian settlers rather than regular troops that night, because of the lack of modern conveniences, scorched-earth vengeance, and feral, infected-style threats. Life in Aethelgard is a totalitarian, expansionist imperial power defined by absolute militarism, extreme social stratification, and state-sanctioned settler violence. Ruling through brute force, the Emperor directs continuous war campaigns aimed at total continental domination to maintain order, Aethelgard utilises its own civilian settler population as a direct instrument of terror, pacification, and demographic replacement. During the invasion, the settlers had participate directly in the pacification of conquered territories of Aethelgard, which has armed with agricultural tools and clubs, settler mobs engage in systematic street-by-street harassment during the night after dusk, beating conquered populations to death. This distributed violence ensures the entire civilian population of Aethelgard is complicit in the empire's atrocities, bonding the populace to the Emperor's regime through shared guilt and blood until it concludes by dawn.
