  • thecookieprincess The beginning of the story takes place in the late 1980s. The main character-16-year-old Jasper Wood-has long sensed that he is different from the rest of his male peers. He likes art and dancing which is considered unmanly by others. But that's not all. Already at the age of 11 he began to notice that he liked boys. However, he knew that he had to hide these feelings, although he began to feel increasingly afraid that others were beginning to notice this, which began to result in taunts and teasing from boys. When the new school year began, something unexpected happened. A new student named Ruby triggered previously unknown feelings in him. It was a very strong infatuation. She also drew attention to him. It turned out that they had a lot in common. He saw in her tenderness, empathy and understanding, something he was looking for. He felt security with her. At the same time, it caused him confusion - did he fall in love with her? It was hard for him to understand these feelings because of the then prevailing binary belief in sexuality-Hetero and homosexuality. Feelings began to grow stronger over time and the relationship developed. Unfortunately, with the end of school they had to part ways. Jasper at one point considered it a passing phase and soon came out to his family as gay, which was hardly accepted. Jasper felt for a long time that this was not it, but he did not know that there were other options. He lived with this homosexual identity for a long time.
    • thecookieprincess   @thecookieprincess He felt he had to stick to his declaration of sexuality. However, at the age of 48, after several successful relationships with men and ignoring his feelings for the opposite sex, he met a new employee-10 years his junior-Margot Adams at work. She became his co-worker and turned out to be very similar in character to Ruby who was his first and, as he thought, only but temporary love(“phase”). He felt that he really had feelings for her which she began to reciprocate. She managed to have a frank conversation with him, at which he explained to her that he had always perceived himself as gay and his feelings for women as something inappropriate, temporary. Margot-as a pansexual woman who is from a slightly different generation-understood him fully. She explained to him what bisexuality is and that there is a whole spectrum of it. She learned that Jasper had rejected this possibility even after learning what it was. He thought it must be 50/50 which didn't fit him. Talking to her helped him understand who he really was and accept that his sexuality was something fluid and he didn't have to stick rigidly to a declaration of sexuality. This understanding allowed him to develop feelings for people of different genders without fear or stress, and thus-feel happy and free.
  • adamj76 Your stories on this website seem to be mostly centered all around LGBTQ things. You know there ARE movies that don't have to be centered completely on sexual orientation, specifically non-hetero sexualtiy. Just in case you haven't considered that.
