Ted Grant is a former heavyweight champion-turned-vigilante, then joined the Justice Society of America. He's currently living in a nursing house in New York along with Max Tennyson, where the nursing house itself secretly becomes a place for retired heroes. He's also the one of the teachers who trained Black Canary/Dinah Laurel Lance how to fight after her mother, Dinah Drake Lance (the first Black Canary) passed away.
